Solar Aftercare & Deployment Specialist

We’d like to hear from people who have helped installers and homeowners deal with solar or battery problems after installation. Your experience could help us design a practical aftercare service through a future paid project, although there is no confirmed start date or ongoing support position at this stage.

COMMITMENT

This would be a small future project, with timing and hours agreed once the work is defined and funding is available.

LOCATION

The work needs knowledge of Irish installations, and we’ll agree your location and any site visits as part of the project.

ENGAGEMENT

You’re expressing interest in future paid work, and we’ll agree the work involved, hours and fee before any project starts.

What you’ll work on

  • You’ll help us work out how to assess a problem after installation, record what we know and follow it through until the next step is clear.
  • You’ll explain which checks can be done remotely, what the customer needs to know and when a qualified person needs to attend.
  • You’ll review realistic examples and identify the information, system access and specialist help needed to investigate each one.
  • You’ll help turn those lessons into a practical guide for handling issues and a checklist for preparing an installation for ongoing support.

What we want to achieve first

  • We should have worked through three fictional cases, or real cases we have permission to use, showing how urgent each issue is and who should handle it.
  • We should have a realistic estimate of the time and expertise needed to deal with common aftercare problems.
  • Before a pilot begins, the guide and checklist should make it clear who is responsible for each part of the service and when specialist help is needed.

The experience we’re looking for

  • You have practical experience with solar or battery aftercare, commissioning equipment or providing technical support for a manufacturer.
  • You understand Irish installations and can recognise when a problem needs a qualified installer or another specialist.
  • You can talk through a difficult case from the first report to the eventual outcome, including how you kept the customer informed.
  • You can write clear guidance that explains both what someone should do and when they should stop and ask for help.

Other experience that could help

  • It would help if you’ve supported equipment from several manufacturers or used more than one monitoring platform.
  • Experience improving how an installer handles support, or helping a team prepare a new service, would also be useful.

How we’ll get started

  1. Start by sharing a little about your experience and an example of an aftercare issue you helped resolve.
  2. We’ll review what you’ve shared and contact you if a suitable project becomes available.
  3. Before any work begins, we’ll agree the fee, timing and responsibilities, along with the information and system access you’ll need.

As we prepare Vardane’s first service in Ireland, you’ll work directly with Leon Kennedy and help turn your experience into practical work that the team can understand and build on.
