Specialist project interest

Energy Systems Integration Specialist

We’d like to hear from specialists who understand how energy equipment, controls and software work together in practice. Your experience could support future paid projects that check compatibility, investigate a connection or verify that an agreed setup behaves as expected before it is used in a home.

COMMITMENT

Projects will be defined as specific needs arise, with timing and hours agreed when the necessary access, authorisation and funding are available.

LOCATION

Some work may be remote, while equipment testing or deployment checks may need access to an agreed location.

ENGAGEMENT

This is an expression of interest in future paid specialist work, with the task, permissions, responsibilities and fee agreed before each project starts.

What you’ll work on

  • You could assess how existing equipment and software exchange information, identifying compatibility issues and the access needed to investigate them properly.
  • You could help design and carry out agreed tests for monitoring or control behaviour, using authorised equipment and clearly defined safety boundaries.
  • You could investigate unreliable connections or unexpected behaviour and explain the findings to the engineering and service teams.
  • You could help verify a proposed deployment and document the settings, assumptions and limits that people need to understand before using it.

What we want to achieve first

  • Each project should answer a specific technical question with evidence that another engineer can review and understand.
  • The findings should make clear which equipment and configurations were checked, what worked and what remains uncertain.
  • Any recommended change should include the permissions, qualified support and further checks needed before it is applied.

The experience we’re looking for

  • You have practical experience integrating energy equipment, control systems or connected devices and can explain how you verified their behaviour.
  • You understand the importance of documented permissions, equipment limits and qualified involvement when work affects a physical system.
  • You can investigate a problem methodically and communicate the evidence without overstating what a test has proved.
  • You are comfortable taking on a defined specialist assignment and leaving clear findings for the people responsible for delivery and service.

Other experience that could help

  • Experience with solar inverters, batteries, EV charging, home-energy controls or common device communication protocols would be useful.
  • It would also help if you’ve supported equipment compatibility testing, commissioning verification or technical work with manufacturers.

How we’ll get started

  1. Share a short introduction and an example of equipment or systems integration work you have carried out.
  2. We’ll contact you when there is a suitable project to discuss, including its technical question and the access available.
  3. Before starting, we’ll agree the paid work, authorisation, test conditions and the evidence needed to consider the assignment complete.

As we prepare Vardane’s first service in Ireland, you’ll work with Leon Kennedy and the people joining the team to turn your experience into a reliable product and service.
